What is SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year (SEY)?

As one of the annual signature events started by SIFE Simon Fraser in 2008, the 4th annual SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year continues to pave its way in 2011 as a budding program and stepping stone for young entrepreneurs, inspiring business ideas and recognizing the future business leaders of tomorrow in their efforts to succeed.

This program aims to inspire business ideas and recognize future business leaders of tomorrow in their efforts to succeed by reaching across to all faculties in Simon Fraser University and connecting them to local entrepreneurs across the Lower Mainland. SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 is expected to have over 700-800 people attending the events in total, including spectators, finalists, and industry professionals.

Mission for SEY 2011

The mission of the SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year program is to recognize and inspire entrepreneurship to Simon Fraser University and local community.

We foster learning and entrepreneurial excellence by working with business professionals, local entrepreneurs and university students to create opportunities for future success.

Who is SIFE Simon Fraser?

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) is a global student organization that encourages students to develop social entrepreneurial projects and gain entrepreneurial skills. SIFE Simon Fraser is open to students at SFU in all faculties and all 3 campuses. SIFE acknowledges that there are no boundaries for students who want to be more entrepreneurial, want to meet people, and to share their passions while making a difference in the community!

SIFE Simon Fraser is an established, yet growing organization that strives to create bigger impact each year. With more than 50 active members running 14 sustainable programs, winning awards, and appearing in the media many times for our impact in the past number of years, SIFE Simon Fraser is the place for students to get involved no matter what your background and past experience is.
